SPINNING THE PROPER
ATTITUDE
“Attitude determines the altitude in almost every endeavor”

| SIMPLE | COMMON SENSE | PRACTICAL |
In this seminar by author R. G. Graham, Boomer shares with bus drivers a lot of the little things that can make the difference in the attitude of a child. However, like in life, it is so often the little things that make the difference. Former N.B.A. great Scotty Pippin was invited to college to be a team manager, until a growth spurt of inches laid the foundation for one of the greatest careers in N.B.A. history. For Pippin, the ability was always there, inches separate anonymity from stardom. A great Russian author and World War II hero on recounting his days of war wrote, I have often wondered that for a matter of inches generations were lost or allowed to exist. In our relationships with our mates we learn it’s the little things that go a long way, the hug, the smile, the opening of the door. The same is true regarding the attitude of a child. So often it is the little things that make the difference between failure and success. Boomer believes the bus driver is often an untapped resource in helping achieve this success. They are the play maker on offense and the pivot position on defense. He or she can start and end the school day in the right way for the child…by choosing the right play…a play that will lead to a score and ultimate victory…the proper attitude!

In some cases, bus drivers have children’s attention for up to two hours a day. This is an awesome responsibility, but with it an opportunity to touch a child’s life in a positive way! Coach Boomer shows how bus drivers can play a key role in leading to a team goal. Drivers can be team leaders in the life of a child. It’s all a matter of attitude!
